If liquid has gotten into the motor base, safety comes first:
- Immediately turn the unit off at the wall outlet and unplug the power cord.
- Do not plug the unit back in or use it again until you're completely certain it's fully dry, inside and out.
- Depending on how much liquid got in, this can take up to 24 hours to dry out completely.
Once it's unplugged:
- Tighten the cup an extra half-turn onto the blade assembly, then carefully lift the cup and blade together off the motor base.
- Wipe out any visible liquid or residue inside the base using a damp cloth or paper towel.
- For hard-to-reach areas, grooves, or the actuator tabs, use a cotton swab or toothbrush. A 50/50 mix of warm water and white vinegar (about 20ml each) works well on stubborn residue.
- Finish with a final wipe-down using a damp paper towel.
- Leave the unit to dry fully — up to 24 hours — before plugging it back in.
